Academic Standards
St. Thomas is committed to maintaining rigorous academic standards in all facets of its PreK through grade 8 program, inspiring students to create and evaluate, analyze and apply. To this end, we are transitioning to providing a Classical Education.
Faculty use the St. Jerome Educational Plan to guide their instruction while we develop our own educational plan that is tailored to the needs of our students and school. St. Thomas faculty collaborated to develop end-of-year Essential Standards for each grade level to ensure continuity and rigor throughout grades PreK-8.
“Every child deserves a formative education in which their sense of wonder is nurtured; their virtues, particularly their intellectual virtues, are developed; and their longings to seek the truth, desire the good, and love the beautiful are cultivated” (Ortner & Begg, 2025).
